Who Are We?
For over a decade, Thermal Shipping Solutions has been a pioneer in developing replacements for expanded polystyrene (EPS) coolers. Founded on our passion for creating innovative cold chain shipping solutions we’ve developed lines of sustainable packaging, thermal mailer envelopes, and insulated box liners, that are trusted thousands of times a day to protect everything from medications to gourmet foods. Above all else, we have a purpose: to teach you that there are cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternatives for your cold chain packaging.
We Have Purpose
When your shipment must stay cool before pickup to after delivery, you can rely on Thermal Shipping Solutions to provide you with a comprehensive packaging system that is truly sustainable. Our quest to be the best green alternative has allowed us to be a respected leader in cold chain packaging. Our sustainable alternatives to EPS coolers allow us to provide effective packaging solutions without compromising performance, our environment, or our integrity.
For decades there had been no trustworthy alternatives to these rigid EPS coolers. The unsatisfied demand for sustainable packaging has allowed outdated products to pollute the marketplace and our trash bins. We feel that by educating our clients about the realities of biodegradability, recyclability, and composability, along with dim weight calculations, early freeze buffering, and packout optimization, they can then make an informed decision about whom to trust. We teach you about ISTA standards of testing and optimal use of refrigerants. Knowledge is power, and we’re more than happy to share it with you.
We don't have the antiquated "out of sight, out of mind" mentality. Unfortunately, almost all alternatives to EPS have poor life cycle assessments. Understanding the full life cycle of a material is important when making the right decision. Some products can be recycled but waste tremendous amounts of resources during the manufacturing process, causing more harm than good. Understanding the elements that make a product truly sustainable allows you to make decisions that are both well informed and responsible. Thermal Shipping Solutions is an advocate for the regenerative design of end-to-end supply chains which is why we’ve developed an award-winning sustainable packaging solution to help solve your temperature-sensitive shipping challenges.
(c) It is deceptive to make an unqualified degradable claim for items entering the solid waste stream if the items do not completely decompose within one year after customary disposal. Unqualified degradable claims for items that are customarily disposed in landfills, incinerators, and recycling facilities are deceptive because these locations do not present conditions in which complete decomposition will occur within one year.
We have been tried and tested by several government agencies as well as concerned members of local municipalities. Admirably, these materials are often sourced from recycled or sustainable sources. Denim comes from blue jeans, jute from burlap sacks, and cellulose from newsprint. Unfortunately, they all require a significant percentage of polyester fiber to glue the organic fibers together and provide loft. Not only is this material not biodegradable or compostable, but it is also a heavier and needlessly expensive and complex alternative.
We once manufactured and sold cellulose. We once manufactured and sold denim. We even sold PET with paper lamination. That stopped. We shifted our approach and began educating you on the elements to consider when determining what’s really needed to achieve the goals you truly care about. We learned that skipping this vital step would leave you with a product that isn't much better than EPS and is more expensive than a turboencabulator.
Our focus on a truly closed-loop approach when it comes to material selection leads us to our award-winning Renewliner, the only product that insulates and can be recycled curbside, over and over again. We hope, that in addition to our already-satisfied customers, you too will also become an advocate for sustainable alternatives in cold chain packaging.
